새만금개발청은 새만금 사업지역 내 용수를 공급하기 위한 '새만금 상수도 간선관로 설치사업'의 실시계획을 승인·고시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 실시계획 승인에 따라 새만금 내부 개발을 촉진하고 정주 여건과 기업 투자 기반을 개선하기 위한 상수도 관로 설치 공사가 본격화된다.
사업 구역은 옥구계통과 계화계통 등 2개 권역으로 나뉘어 추진되며, 오는 10월 착공에 들어가 2028년 완공을 목표로 진행된다.
상수도망이 완공되면 주요 거점인 스마트 수변도시와 새만금 신항만 등 용수 수요가 큰 개발 지역에 용수가 순차적으로 공급될 예정이다.
새만금개발청은 필수 인프라 적기 구축을 통해 입주 기업의 사업 환경을 지원하겠다고 강조했다.
새만금개발청은 향후 공사 진행 과정에서도 관계 기관과 협력해 사업을 차질 없이 추진해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.
