영암국유림관리소는 추석 명절을 맞아 조상의 묘소를 찾는 성묘객들의 편의를 위해 관내 국유임도를 9월 14일부터 10월 5일까지 22일간 한시적으로 개방한다고 밝혔다.
개방 대상은 영암국유림관리소가 관할하는 광주, 강진, 나주, 목포, 무안, 신안, 영광, 영암, 완도, 장성, 장흥, 진도, 함평, 해남 지역의 국유임도다.
국유임도는 원래 산림 보호 및 경량 재해 예방을 위한 기반 시설로 평시에는 일반 차량 출입이 엄격히 통제되나 명절 성묘객 이용 편의를 위해 임시 개방된다.
관리소 관계자는 임도가 일반 도로에 비해 노폭이 좁고 급경사, 급커브, 낙석 위험 구간이 많아 운전 시 시속 20km 미만으로 서행해야 한다고 강조했다.
영암국유림관리소는 개방 기간 성묘객 안전 확보와 함께 산림 내 임산물 무단 채취 등 불법 행위에 대한 지도 점검을 강화할 방침이라고 밝혔다.
