창경궁 야연은 19세기 효명세자가 주관한 궁중 연향에서 착안한 체험형 프로그램으로, 부모 중 1명이 조선 시대 문무백관 및 외명부 복식과 분장을 갖추고 궁중 연회에 참석하는 방식으로 진행된다.
행사는 창경궁 문정전 일원에서 열리며 장수 기원 사진 촬영, 가족 영상 편지, 궁중 병과 시식, 전통공연 관람 등 다채로운 프로그램이 마련된다.
입장권은 9월 8일 오후 2시부터 티켓링크를 통해 선착순 판매되며, 가격은 1매당 5만 원으로 체험자 1인과 동반 가족 2인을 포함해 총 3인이 입장할 수 있다.
사전 예매를 하지 못한 일반 관람객도 회당 선착순 70명까지 무료로 공연을 관람할 수 있으며, 소원 적기와 '효' 주제 퀴즈 풀이 등 현장 이벤트에 참여할 수 있다.
궁능유적본부는 하루 1회 진행되는 이번 행사를 통해 회차별로 체험자 30명과 동반 가족 60명 등 총 90명에게 특별한 고궁의 밤을 선사하겠다고 밝혔다.
