[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = The Cheonan Agricultural Technology Center is launching a large-scale food culture education program to respond to the accelerating decline in rice consumption and to spread a proper understanding of local rice.

The center announced on the 18th that it will promote "Technology Education for Enhancing Consumption Using Our Rice" targeting local farmers and consumers from June 9 to 23 next month. This education program was prepared as a convergence course combining theory and practice to examine the nutritional characteristics and importance of Korean rice, and to seek strategies for expanding rice consumption with a modern touch.

Particularly in the practical course, Park Jeong-suk, certified as a Cheonan Traditional Master, will serve as the instructor to further elevate the quality of education. Under the precise guidance of Master Park, trainees will strengthen their practical capabilities by directly making a variety of menus ranging from traditional rice cakes such as Bupyeon, Susu-bukkumi, Omegi-tteok, and Dotori-injeolmi, to modern desserts like Ssamji-tteok and Chaltteok-pie.

The education is open to any farmer or consumer in the Cheonan area, and applicants who can attend all three sessions will be prioritized for selection. The application period runs from May 19 to 28, and submissions can be made by visiting the Agricultural Technology Center in person or via email (namju1214@korea.kr).
