Lee Byeong-do, the candidate selected by the Chungnam Democratic and Progressive Superintendent Innovation Committee, signed the Policy Agreement for Strengthening History Education for Chungnam Students on the past 17th alongside the Chungnam Donghak Peasant Revolution Organization Council and the Donghak Peasant Revolution Memorial Library Construction Promotion Committee. This agreement was prepared to inherit the core values of independence, equality, and democracy—the defining spirits of the Donghak Peasant Revolution—and to faithfully reflect the history, culture, and spirit of the independence movement of the Chungnam region into the regular school curriculum. The vision is to help students establish a correct historical awareness and grow into future democratic citizens who embody the values of democracy, human rights, and peace.

The signing ceremony was attended by numerous officials from the Chungnam Donghak Peasant Revolution Organization Council and local civil society figures, who exchanged in-depth opinions on the paradigm shift of history education in Chungnam and future educational policies. According to the agreement, both sides agreed to expand community-linked educational policies to strengthen history education for Chungnam students and to actively develop educational materials on the Donghak Peasant Revolution and the history of the independence movement in the Chungnam region to reflect them in school curricula. They also plan to activate student-participatory historical field experiences and provide full support for historical and cultural tours.

Expanding history education training for teachers and democratic citizenship education programs was also included in the joint agenda. In particular, they agreed to develop Chungnam-style future history education content aggregating local historical, cultural, and biographical assets, while establishing safeguards to strengthen historical identity and humanistic values even within advanced digital and AI-centered educational environments. Furthermore, they plan to build a solid and sustainable cooperation system among civil society, historical organizations, and educational institutions.

Candidate Lee Byeong-do expressed strong determination, stating, "History education is not merely learning to memorize past facts, but a dynamic process through which the future generation learns democracy and community values." He added, "In an era of future education centered on AI and digital technology, education that fosters human dignity, community values, and historical identity is more important than anything else," emphasizing that he would systematically push forward Chungnam-style history and democratic citizenship education.
