[사회/CTN]가금현 기자= 부산항 개항 150주년을 기념해 열린 제19회 부산항축제에서 한국항로표지기술원(K-AtoN)이 운영한 해양미션투어 '등대문화 체험부스'가 5천여 명의 시민과 관광객의 발길을 사로잡으며 축제의 대표 인기 프로그램으로 떠올랐다.
이번 해양미션투어는 부산항 개항 150주년 축제의 핵심 콘텐츠로 마련됐다. 참가자들은 숨겨진 항로를 찾아 떠나는 가상 선박 ‘판타스틱 부산호’에 승선하기 위해 다양한 임무를 수행하며 부산항의 역사와 해양문화를 자연스럽게 체험하는 스토리텔링형 프로그램에 참여했다.
총 13개 기관이 참여한 가운데 기록수집구역, 생존본능구역, 항해탐험구역, 장비강화구역, 감각회복구역 등에서 20여 가지 체험과 미션이 진행됐으며, 참가자들은 임무를 완료하면 특별한 전리품도 받을 수 있어 높은 호응을 얻었다.
특히 한국항로표지기술원이 운영한 ‘장비강화구역’의 등대문화 체험부스는 단연 인기였다. 참가자들은 알록달록한 디폼블록으로 ‘나만의 등대 키링’을 제작하고, 개성 넘치는 ‘등대 왕관’을 직접 만들며 미션을 수행했다. 행사 기간 동안 준비된 체험 재료가 모두 소진될 정도로 인기를 끌었으며, 부스를 찾은 방문객만 5천여 명에 달했다.
현장 관계자는 “등대 키링 체험은 집중력을 요하는 활동이라 초등학생과 학부모들의 참여가 특히 많았다”며 “오랜 시간 자리를 지키며 완성에 몰입하는 모습이 인상적이었다”고 말했다. 이어 “등대 왕관 역시 축제장 곳곳에서 포토존 인증샷 소품으로 활용되며 큰 사랑을 받았다”고 전했다.
체험에 참여한 한 시민은 “아이와 함께 단순한 만들기 체험이라고 생각했는데 등대의 구조와 역할, 해상 안전의 중요성까지 자연스럽게 배울 수 있어 뜻깊었다”며 “아이의 호기심을 자극하는 교육형 체험 콘텐츠였다”고 만족감을 나타냈다.
한국항로표지기술원은 이번 축제를 통해 오는 7월 개최되는 ‘대한민국 등대주간’ 홍보도 함께 진행했다. 대한민국 등대주간은 매년 7월 1일 ‘세계등대의 날’을 기념해 해양수산부가 운영하는 행사로, 올해는 7월 1일부터 14일까지 2주간 전국 등대해양문화공간 9개소와 부산 영도등대 일원에서 다채로운 프로그램이 펼쳐질 예정이다.
한국항로표지기술원 심지원 등대해양문화팀장은 “부산항 개항 150주년이라는 뜻깊은 자리에서 시민들에게 등대와 해양문화의 가치를 쉽고 재미있게 전달할 수 있어 의미가 컸다”며 “앞으로도 국민이 일상 속에서 등대를 친숙하게 접할 수 있도록 다양한 문화콘텐츠를 지속적으로 개발해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Participants who completed missions received special rewards, adding excitement to the program.
Among them, the Lighthouse Culture Booth in the Equipment Upgrade Zone drew exceptional attention. Visitors created their own lighthouse keyrings using colorful DIY blocks and crafted unique lighthouse crowns while completing mission challenges. The popularity was so overwhelming that all prepared materials were completely exhausted before the event concluded.
An on-site official said, “The lighthouse keyring activity was especially popular among elementary school students and parents, who spent considerable time focusing on assembling their creations. The lighthouse crowns also became a favorite photo-zone accessory throughout the festival.”
One parent who participated with a child remarked, “What seemed like a simple craft activity turned into a meaningful educational experience. My child became curious about how lighthouses work and why they are important for maritime safety.”
The institute also promoted the upcoming “Korea Lighthouse Week,” which will be held from July 1 to July 14 in celebration of World Lighthouse Day. Various cultural and educational programs will take place at nine Lighthouse Maritime Culture Spaces nationwide, including Yeongdo Lighthouse in Busan.
