성남시에 따르면 시는 지역경제상권과를 중심으로 물가대책 종합상황실을 가동하고, 수정구·중원구·분당구 경제교통과와 협력해 현장 점검반을 가동한다.

중점 점검 대상은 전통시장과 주요 상권 내 가격표시제 이행 여부 및 바가지요금 등 상거래 질서 위반 행위다. 시는 현장 모니터링과 함께 합리적 가격을 유지하는 착한가격업소를 지속 발굴하고, 피서지 중심의 물가안정 캠페인을 병행한다. 또한 시 홈페이지를 통해 주요 품목의 물가 정보를 실시간 공개해 시민들의 합리적 소비를 지원할 방침이라고 덧붙였다.

이처럼 휴가철 유동 인구가 몰리는 시기에 맞춰 상권 내 가격 표시 상태를 점검하고 모니터링 체계를 작동하는 것은 기습적인 가격 인상을 억제하고 상거래 질서를 유지한다는 측면에서 의미 있는 시도로 평가된다.

다만 공무원들이 피켓을 들고 거리를 다니는 캠페인이나 정기적인 현장 시찰만으로는 폭등한 피서지 물가를 잡기에 역부족이며, 자율 참여에만 의존하는 방식은 생색내기용 행정에 그칠 위험이 크다. 보여주기식 단속에 그치지 않고, 소비자가 장바구니를 들었을 때 가격 인하 효과를 즉각 확인할 수 있는 유통 구조 개선과 실효적인 상권 지원책이 뒤따라야 할 시점이다.
