[안동/CTN]이수현 기자= 안동시 관계자가 23일 사업 선정 소식을 전하며 "안동철교 리모델링 사업은 옹천역에서 운산역까지 35km 철도 유휴부지 전체를 하나로 잇는 핵심 연결고리이다"라며 "관련 행정절차를 차질 없이 추진해 시민에게는 안전한 보행·휴식 공간을 제공하고 지역에는 새로운 활력을 더하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 안동시는 노후화된 안동철교를 보행형 문화공간으로 재정비하는 '안동철교 리모델링 사업'이 국토교통부 주관 '2026년 지역수요맞춤지원사업'에 최종 선정됐다고 발표했다.
지역수요맞춤지원사업은 전국 70개 성장촉진지역 시·군을 대상으로 폐교, 유휴 역사, 노후 공공시설 등 저활용 자산을 주민 생활과 밀접한 편의·문화·복지 공간으로 재탄생시키는 공모사업이다. 안동시는 이번 공모 선정으로 국비 30억 원을 확보했으며, 지방비 20억 원을 더해 총 50억 원의 사업비를 투입할 계획이다.
