내포사랑봉사단은 지난 9일과 27일 양일간, 침수 예방을 위한 빗물받이 점검·청소 및 지역 이웃을 위한 제과 나눔 등 ‘6월 정기 봉사활동’을 성공적으로 전개했다고 밝혔다.

지난 9일에 진행된 활동은 내포신도시 남광장 인근 상가 구역 등 침수 위험이 높은 구간을 중심으로 이루어졌다. 봉사단원들은 거리 곳곳의 쓰레기를 줍는 플로깅 활동과 더불어, 배수 기능 확보를 위한 ‘길거리 빗물받이 내부 청소 및 점검’에 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 특히 상가 밀집 지역의 빗물받이 내부에 쌓인 토사와 담배꽁초 등의 퇴적물을 직접 걷어내며 막힘 없는 배수 환경을 조성하는 데 총력을 기울였다.

이어 27일에는 세대를 초월한 이웃 사랑을 실천하는 ‘정기 제과 봉사활동’이 펼쳐졌다. 이번 활동에는 성인 단원뿐만 아니라 지역 청소년과 가족봉사단이 함께 참여해 의미를 더했다. 봉사자들이 정성을 가득 담아 직접 반죽하고 구워낸 카스테라는 홍성군 여자청소년단기쉼터, 남자청소년단기쉼터, 청로요양원에 각각 전달되어 지역 이웃들에게 달콤한 온정을 선사했다.

오선희 충청남도자원봉사센터장은 “여름철 장마에 대비해 주민들의 안전을 지키고 침수 피해를 예방하고자 이번 활동을 기획했다”며 “매월 기후위기 대응과 재난 예방, 이웃 나눔에 앞장서 주시는 단원들께 진심으로 감사드리며, 앞으로도 안전망 역할을 톡톡히 할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

The activity held on the 9th focused on areas with a high risk of flooding, particularly around the commercial district near the South Plaza of Naepo New Town. Along with plogging (picking up trash while jogging), the volunteers poured their efforts into inspecting and cleaning the insides of street rain gutters to ensure proper drainage. The members sweated together to clear out accumulated sediment, dirt, and cigarette butts from the gutters in the dense commercial area, creating a blockage-free drainage environment.
Following this, on the 27th, a regular baking volunteer activity was held to share love across generations. This activity was especially meaningful as it brought together local youth and family volunteer groups alongside adult members. The castella cakes, kneaded and baked with care by the volunteers, were delivered to the Hongseong-gun Short-term Shelter for Female Youth, the Short-term Shelter for Male Youth, and the Cheongno Nursing Home, delivering sweet warmth to neighbors in the community.
Sun-hee Oh, Director of the Chungcheongnam-do Volunteer Center, stated, "We planned this intensive inspection and cleaning of rain gutters to protect the safety of local residents and prevent flood damage ahead of the upcoming summer monsoon. I express my deepest gratitude to the members who take the lead every month with unchanging passion for climate crisis response, disaster prevention, and community sharing. We will spare no support so that the Naepo Sarang Volunteer Group can continue to play a solid role as a community safety net."
