[사회/CTN] 가금현 기자 = 충청권의 미래를 결정할 제9회 전국동시지방선거 및 국회의원보궐선거의 막이 본격적으로 오른다.
대전·세종·충남선거관리위원회는 오는 5월 14일부터 15일까지 이틀간 후보자등록신청을 접수한다고 밝혔다.
이번 선거는 2008년 6월 4일 출생자를 포함한 18세 이상 국민 중 결격 사유가 없는 자라면 누구나 출사표를 던질 수 있다.
특히 지방선거 후보자는 지난 4월 5일부터 선거일까지 해당 지자체 관할 구역 내 주민등록을 유지해야 하는 거주 요건을 충족해야 한다.
후보 등록을 위해서는 기탁금 납부와 더불어 재산, 병역, 전과, 학력, 세금 납부 및 체납 증명서 등 엄격한 증빙 서류를 제출해야 한다.
교육감 선거의 경우 교육 경력 증명이 추가되며, 무소속 및 교육감 후보는 정당 추천서 대신 선거권자의 추천장을 제출해야 하는 차이가 있다.
선관위는 후보자 등록 시 당적 관리의 중요성을 강조했다.
정당 당원은 무소속 출마가 불가능하며, 등록 기간 중 당적 변경이나 이중 당적을 보유할 경우 등록이 제한된다.
또한, 비례대표 지방의원 후보 추천 시 후보자의 50% 이상을 여성으로 공천하고 홀수 순번에 배치해야 하는 '여성 할당제'를 위반할 경우 등록 자체가 무효 처리되므로 정당의 각별한 주의가 요구된다.
등록을 마친 후보자의 상세 정보(재산·전과·학력 등)는 6월 3일까지 중앙선관위 선거통계시스템을 통해 상시 공개된다.
유권자들은 이를 통해 후보자의 도덕성과 자질을 면밀히 살필 수 있다.
