[경주/CTN]이수현 기자= 주낙영 경주시장은 "한·중·일 3국과 아세안은 경제, 문화, 관광 등 다양한 분야에서 긴밀히 협력해 온 중요한 동반자"라며 "APEC 정상회의 개최도시인 경주에서 열린 이번 만남이 각국의 우호와 실질적인 협력을 한층 발전시키는 계기가 되길 기대한다"라고 말했다.

경주시는 주낙영 경주시장이 시청에서 한·중·일 아세안센터 사무총장단을 접견하고 교류 및 협력 확대 방안을 논의했다고 9월 2일 밝혔다.

이번 면담은 경주에서 열린 제22차 한·중·일 아세안센터 연례 사무총장 회의를 계기로 추진됐다.

면담 현장에는 김재신 한-아세안센터 사무총장, 장리중 중-아세안센터 사무총장, 히라바야시 쿠니히코 일-아세안센터 사무총장 등이 참석했다.

주 시장은 방문단에 환영 뜻을 전하고 지난 7월 취임한 장리중 중-아세안센터 사무총장에게 축하 인사를 건넸다.

경주시는 이번 연례회의와 연계해 9월 1일부터 4일까지 3개 아세안센터가 공동 주최하는 '아세안+3 청년 수련회'를 개최 중이다.

경주시는 주한 아세안 유학생과 한·중·일 청년들은 이번 수련회를 통해 경주 역사문화 탐방과 팀별 프로그램을 진행하며 상호 이해를 넓힐 예정이라고 밝혔다.

Gyeongju City announced on September 2 that Mayor Nak-young Joo met with the Secretaries-General of the Korea-China-Japan ASEAN Centers to discuss expanding international cooperation.

The visit was organized in conjunction with the 22nd Annual Secretary-General Meeting of the Korea-China-Japan ASEAN Centers held in Gyeongju.

Distinguished attendees included Jaesin Kim (Korea-ASEAN), Lizhong Zhang (China-ASEAN), and Kunihiko Hirabayashi (Japan-ASEAN).

Alongside the main conference, Gyeongju is hosting the 'ASEAN+3 Youth Retreat' from September 1 to 4, bringing together ASEAN international students and East Asian youth for historical tours and collaborative programs.

Gyeongju City stated that it intends to leverage its international city network to continue expanding multilateral diplomatic and youth exchange programs.
