[농식품부/CTN]가요진 기자= 김철 국립농산물품질관리원장은 "민족 고유의 명절인 추석을 맞아 국민이 안심하고 제수·선물용 농산물을 구매할 수 있도록 생산 단계부터 농업인과 함께 안전성 관리를 철저히 하겠다"라고 말했다. 국립농산물품질관리원은 추석 명절을 앞두고 제수·선물용 농산물에 대한 안전성 기획조사를 실시한다고 밝혔다.
농관원에 따르면 8월 24일부터 9월 23일까지 진행되는 이번 조사는 사과, 배, 고사리 등 성수품 생산단지와 전통시장을 대상으로 잔류농약을 점검하는 방식으로 추진된다.
점검을 통해 부적합 판정을 받은 농산물은 출하 연기나 폐기 조치로 시중 유통을 차단하며, 지난해 부적합 농가 대상 1대1 교육과 농약 안전 사용 홍보자료 배포도 함께 진행한다.
명절 대목을 앞두고 수요가 급증하는 농산물의 잔류농약을 점검하고 부적합 품목의 유통을 선제적으로 차단하는 것은 농산물 품질 관리 기관의 기본적인 본연 업무다.
