[전남광주통합특별시/CTN]최영준 기자= 문길상 전남광주통합특별시 총무과장이 공공예식장 개방 방침을 전하며 "치솟는 결혼식 비용으로 고민하는 예비부부들에게 시청사 및 공공기관 개방이 현실적이고 따뜻한 대안이 되길 바란다"라며 "앞으로도 공공자원을 적극 활용해 합리적이고 건전한 결혼 문화가 확산될 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 전남광주통합특별시는 고물가 시대 가을·겨울 결혼을 앞둔 예비부부들을 위해 광주청사 내 '빛의 정원'과 광주인재교육원 후생관을 공공예식 공간으로 개방·운영하고 있다고 8월 9일 발표했다.
특별시에 따르면 광주청사 잔디광장, 1층 시민홀, 장미공원 등 빛의 정원은 야외광장의 경우 1일 1만 원, 실내 공간은 2시간당 1만 원 수준의 저렴한 이용료로 제공된다.
또한 청사 구내식당을 활용해 1인당 5천 원 수준의 간편 국수 식사를 제공하거나 출장 뷔페를 이용할 수 있도록 했다. 시는 빛의 정원에서 지난해 8팀, 올 상반기 3팀이 예식을 치렀으며 하반기 6팀이 예약을 마쳤다고 설명했다. 이용료 3만 원인 광주인재교육원 후생관 역시 2024년 5건, 2025년 3건, 올 상반기 1건의 예식을 치르는 등 공공예식장 역할을 이어가고 있다고 덧붙였다.

다만 1년에 겨우 몇 팀 이용하는 수준의 미미한 이용 실적을 가지고 마치 고물가 시대 결혼식 비용 부담을 획기적으로 해결한 것처럼 포장하며 생색을 내는 것은 전형적인 전시성 행정이라는 지적을 피하기 어렵다. 단순 장소 대여 수준의 생색내기 홍보를 넘어, 예비부부가 직접 준비해야 하는 음향·조명·세팅 등 전문가 인력 인프라 지원과 실질적인 결혼 지원금 연계 등 예비부부들이 현장에서 바로 체감할 수 있는 종합적인 결혼 지원 대책이 뒤따라야 할 것으로 보인다.
