조상호 세종시장은 23일 시청 접견실에서 푸렙어치르(D. Purev-Ochir) 볼강 아이막 도지사를 비롯한 대표단을 만나 양 지역 간 우호협력 증진과 실질적인 교류 확대 방안을 논의했다.
몽골 북부에 위치한 볼강 아이막은 풍부한 산림과 농축산 자원을 기반으로 발전하고 있으며, 최근 지방행정 혁신과 관광 활성화에 주력하고 있는 지역이다.
이날 면담에서는 스마트도시와 도시개발을 비롯해 농업, 문화·관광, 청년 교류 등 다양한 분야에서 지속 가능한 협력 방안이 폭넓게 논의됐다. 볼강 아이막 대표단은 지역의 풍부한 산림 자원과 관광·농축산업의 성장 가능성을 소개하며 세종시와의 협력 의지를 밝혔다.
푸렙어치르 도지사는 "세종시의 선진적인 도시 행정은 몽골 지방정부에도 많은 시사점을 제공하고 있다"며 "이번 만남을 계기로 다양한 분야에서 실질적인 협력 성과를 만들어가길 기대한다"고 말했다.
세종시는 이번 교류가 양 지방정부 간 신뢰를 강화하고 도시개발과 행정, 경제·문화 분야까지 협력 기반을 확대하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
조상호 시장은 "세종시와 볼강 아이막은 미래지향적인 협력 파트너로 성장할 충분한 잠재력을 갖고 있다"며 "경제·문화·관광 교류는 물론 도시개발과 행정 분야에서도 지속적인 협력을 확대해 양 지역 주민들에게 실질적인 도움이 되는 협력사업을 발굴해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
◆ Sejong City Expands Cooperation with Mongolia's Bulgan Aimag in Smart Cities, Culture, Tourism, and Urban Development
Sejong Special Self-Governing City is expanding cooperation with Mongolia's Bulgan Aimag in a wide range of fields, including smart cities, culture and tourism, and urban development.
On July 23, Sejong Mayor Cho Sang-ho met with Bulgan Aimag Governor D. Purev-Ochir and his delegation at the City Hall reception room to discuss ways to strengthen friendly relations and promote practical exchanges between the two regions.
Located in northern Mongolia, Bulgan Aimag is known for its abundant forest resources and strong agricultural and livestock industries. In recent years, the province has also focused on administrative innovation and tourism development.
During the meeting, the two sides held extensive discussions on sustainable cooperation in various sectors, including smart cities, urban development, agriculture, culture and tourism, and youth exchanges. The Bulgan Aimag delegation introduced the region's rich forest resources and highlighted its growth potential in tourism and agriculture, expressing a strong willingness to deepen cooperation with Sejong City.
Governor D. Purev-Ochir stated, "Sejong City's advanced urban administration offers valuable insights for local governments in Mongolia. We hope this meeting will serve as a turning point for achieving tangible cooperation across various fields."
Sejong City expects the meeting to strengthen mutual trust between the two local governments and broaden the foundation for cooperation in urban development, public administration, the economy, and cultural exchanges.
Mayor Cho Sang-ho said, "Sejong City and Bulgan Aimag have great potential to become future-oriented partners. We will continue to expand cooperation not only in economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges but also in urban development and public administration, while identifying collaborative projects that deliver tangible benefits to the residents of both regions."
