[천안/CTN]강현수 기자 = 천안시가 고령화와 인력 부족이라는 농촌의 해묵은 과제를 정면 돌파하기 위해 생산비를 획기적으로 낮출 수 있는 벼 직파재배 기술의 현장 보급에 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
천안시농업기술센터는 지난 13일 병천면 가전리 일원 시범 포장에서 벼 직파재배 확산을 위한 현장 연시회를 개최했다. 이번 행사는 센터가 추진 중인 벼 직파재배 확대 현장지원 강화 교육의 핵심 과정으로, 농업인들이 신기술을 직접 눈으로 확인하고 현장 적용 능력을 키울 수 있도록 두 차례에 걸쳐 기획된 실전형 교육의 첫 단추다.
이날 연시회는 직파재배의 성패를 가르는 가장 중요한 단계인 논 균평작업을 중심으로 진행됐다. 균일한 입모를 확보하고 초기 생육을 안정시키기 위한 정밀 균평 기술이 현장에서 시연됐으며, 참석한 농업인들은 기존 모내기 방식의 번거로움을 덜어내면서도 안정적인 수확을 담보할 수 있는 최신 농법을 익히는 데 열중했다.
센터의 기술 전수는 여기서 멈추지 않는다. 오는 20일에는 직파전용 파종기와 드론을 전격 투입한 파종작업 연시회를 추가로 진행할 예정이다. 농업인들은 드론을 활용한 공중 파종과 전용 장비의 운용 방식을 직접 체험하며, 첨단 기계화 농업이 가져올 노동력 절감 효과를 현장에서 직접 검증하게 된다.
임준수 농촌지도사는 "직파재배는 농촌 고령화와 극심한 인력 부족 문제를 해결할 수 있는 가장 확실한 생력재배 기술이다"라며 "단순한 기술 보급을 넘어 현장 중심의 교육과 연시회를 지속적으로 열어 직파재배 농법이 지역 농가에 안정적으로 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 모든 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.
벼 직파재배는 육묘 과정이 생략되어 생산 비용을 크게 줄일 수 있는 저비용·고효율 농법의 핵심이다. 천안시가 보여준 이번 현장 중심의 기술 행정은 우리 농업의 체질을 개선하고 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 스마트 농촌으로 도약하는 결정적인 전환점이 될 것으로 확신한다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = Cheonan City is concentrating its administrative power on the on-site dissemination of direct rice seeding technology, which can drastically lower production costs, to directly confront the long-standing challenges of an aging population and labor shortages in rural areas.
On the 13th, the Cheonan Agricultural Technology Center held a field demonstration at a pilot plot in Gajeon-ri, Byeongcheon-myeon, to expand direct rice seeding. This event is a core part of the center's "Rice Direct Seeding Expansion Field Support Strengthening Education." It is the first step of a two-part practical training session designed to allow farmers to see new technologies firsthand and enhance their ability to apply them in the field.
The demonstration focused on land leveling, the most crucial stage determining the success of direct seeding. Precision leveling technology to secure uniform seedling establishment and stabilize initial growth was demonstrated on-site. Participating farmers were eager to learn the latest agricultural methods that can guarantee a stable harvest while reducing the hassle of traditional transplanting methods.
The center's technology transfer does not stop here. On the 20th, an additional sowing demonstration using direct-seeding specialized seeders and drones will be held. Farmers will experience aerial sowing using drones and the operation of specialized equipment, directly verifying the labor-saving effects of advanced mechanized agriculture in the field.
Agricultural Instructor Im Jun-su stated, "Direct seeding is the most reliable labor-saving cultivation technology that can solve the problems of aging rural areas and severe labor shortages. Beyond mere technology dissemination, we will continue to hold field-centered education and demonstrations to ensure that direct seeding methods take firm root in local farms."
