천안시복지재단은 14일 ㈜엠에스티가 관내 취약계층을 위한 후원금 1,000만 원을 기탁했다고 밝혔다. 엠에스티는 단순히 일회성 기부에 그치지 않고 지난해에도 재단과 천안사랑장학재단에 각각 1,000만 원을 후원하는 등 지역 복지 증진과 인재 양성을 위한 사회공헌 활동을 묵묵히 이어오고 있다.
김맹권 엠에스티 대표이사는 "지역사회와 함께 성장해 온 기업으로서 어려운 이웃들에게 작은 보탬이 되길 바라는 마음으로 후원에 동참하게 됐다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회와 상생하며 지속적인 나눔 활동을 이어갈 것"이라고 확고한 신념을 밝혔다. 이에 김승태 천안시복지재단 이사장 직무대행은 "따뜻한 마음을 보내주셔서 감사드린다"며 "후원금은 도움이 필요한 이웃들을 위해 가장 의미 있는 곳에 사용할 것"이라고 답했다.
김석필 천안시장 권한대행 부시장은 "지역의 어려운 이웃을 위해 따뜻한 나눔을 실천해 주셔서 감사드린다"며 "민관이 함께하는 나눔문화가 지역사회 전반에 강력하게 확산될 수 있도록 시 차원의 복지 지원에도 총력을 기울이겠다"고 강조했다.
