[천안/CTN]강현수 기자 = 천안시 동남구가 예기치 못한 대형 화재로부터 시민의 생명과 안전을 지켜내기 위해 실전을 방불케 하는 강도 높은 소방 훈련을 단행하며 재난 대응 역량을 최고조로 끌어올렸다.
동남구는 지난 13일 행정복합타운 일원에서 천안동남소방서 구성119안전센터와 함께 합동 소방훈련을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 이번 훈련은 최근 빈번해진 대형 화재 사고에 대비해 실제 화재 상황을 가정한 초기 대응 능력을 배양하고, 유관기관 간의 유기적인 협업 체계를 더욱 공고히 하기 위해 마련됐다.
훈련에 참여한 전 직원은 화재 발생 상황 전파를 시작으로 소화기와 옥내소화전을 활용한 신속한 초기 진화, 직원 및 일반 시민의 안전한 비상 대피 등 실전과 동일한 단계별 대응 절차를 완벽히 소화했다. 특히 인명 피해 최소화를 위한 부상자 구조 및 응급조치, 중요 물품 반출, 소방대와의 합동 화재 진압 등 긴박한 현장 상황에 걸맞은 체계적인 훈련이 전개됐다.
구는 이번 훈련을 통해 화재 발생 시 가장 중요한 신속한 119 신고와 계단을 이용한 질서 있는 대피 등 기본 행동 요령을 철저히 점검했다. 아울러 기관별 역할을 명확히 분담하고 현장 지휘 체계를 강화함으로써 실제 재난 발생 시 즉각적으로 가동될 수 있는 실전 대응 시스템을 완성하는 데 주력했다.
이명열 동남구청장은 “최근 전국적으로 잇따르는 대형 화재 사고로 인해 재난 대응의 중요성이 그 어느 때보다 강조되고 있다”며 “어떠한 위기 상황에서도 시민들이 안심할 수 있도록 신속하고 체계적인 대응 태세를 지속적으로 구축하고 정기적인 안전 훈련을 멈추지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = Cheonan City's Dongnam-gu has maximized its disaster response capabilities by conducting an intensive fire drill resembling an actual situation to protect citizens' lives and safety from unexpected large-scale fires.
On May 13, Dongnam-gu announced that it conducted a joint fire drill with the Guseong 119 Safety Center of the Cheonan Dongnam Fire Station in the area of the Administrative Complex Town. This training was designed to foster initial response capabilities assuming an actual fire situation in preparation for the recent frequent large-scale fire accidents and to further solidify the organic collaboration system between relevant agencies.
All employees participating in the drill perfectly mastered phased response procedures identical to real-life situations, starting with spreading the word about the fire, followed by rapid initial suppression using fire extinguishers and indoor hydrants, and the safe emergency evacuation of employees and general citizens. In particular, systematic training suited for urgent on-site situations was developed, including rescuing injured persons and providing first aid to minimize casualties, removing important items, and joint fire suppression with the fire department.
Through this drill, the district thoroughly checked basic behavioral guidelines such as reporting to 119 promptly and orderly evacuation using stairs, which are most important in the event of a fire. Furthermore, it focused on completing a practical response system that can be activated immediately during a real disaster by clearly dividing roles by agency and strengthening the on-site command system.
Lee Myeong-yeol, Mayor of Dongnam-gu, stated, "The importance of disaster response is being emphasized more than ever due to the recent string of large-scale fire accidents across the country. We will continue to build a prompt and systematic response posture and will not stop regular safety training so that citizens can feel safe in any crisis situation."
