Cho Gyu-myung, Director of the Geomdan Prehistory Museum in Incheon, stated, "We hope that children welcoming the summer vacation will participate in the museum's online education at home to have a joyful experience with prehistoric artifacts and spend a beneficial time gaining knowledge about the prehistoric era." The Geomdan Prehistory Museum, under the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, has fully operated its digital education infrastructure that breaks down the constraints of time and space during the hot summer vacation period, embarking on an advanced educational administration to foster the historical and cultural refinement of local children and expand family-centered leisure culture.

The museum announced on the 16th that it will conduct a non-face-to-face online education program, 'Wise Museum Package,' targeting families from July 6 to July 24 for the summer vacation. This program was planned to level up the non-face-to-face education infrastructure settled after COVID-19 so that the whole family can freely consume museum contents anytime and anywhere. The core of the education is a multi-angle convergence learning linked with virtual reality (VR) contents of the 'Online Exhibition Hall' of the Geomdan Prehistory Museum built within the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum website. Families who succeed in applying for the program will receive a Diform Block teaching aid kit and tailored educational worksheets delivered via free post to directly assemble core prehistoric artifacts, the comb-patterned pottery and Paljuryeong. Participating children will experience integrated visual and tactile education by dimensionally viewing the online exhibition room through the enclosed QR code, watching a special prehistoric animation, and assembling the artifact blocks in a self-directed manner. Any family with elementary school children residing in Incheon can apply for free, and it will accept 150 families on a first-come, first-served basis through the Incheon Online Integrated Reservation website from 10 a.m. on June 22 to 5 p.m. on June 28. The museum plans to select excellent families who participate in the post-survey and leave reviews after the training to present small souvenirs in a post-manner.

The move where the public museum did not complacently rest on traditional operating methods like attracting offline visitors, but instead created an active-dimensional education model called 'Museum in a Bag' by combining high-level virtual online exhibition hall infrastructure and the distribution of Diform Block teaching materials preferred by children, is interpreted as a highly effective practical case in terms of the digital transformation of cultural administration. In particular, fully injecting local government budgets to make teaching materials and postal costs free eliminated the blind spots of educational welfare, and politically accommodated elementary school households in outlying areas with lower museum accessibility, highlighting Incheon City's sophisticated administrative planning power to establish equality in public services.

However, critics point out that for these face-to-face and non-face-to-face convergence education policies to avoid being disconnected as short-term teaching aid consumption or one-time vacation event administrations restricted to only 150 families, 'administrative and practical post-management networks and cultural feedback systems (post-guidelines)' capable of permanentizing the utilization of the constructed digital exhibition infrastructure and securing participating families as fixed museum clients after the program ends must be thoroughly operated. This is because if the teaching aids distributed for free end up as simple short-term toy consumption and the emotional and educational linkage with the museum is disconnected in a post-manner, it is difficult to induce constant activation of the online exhibition hall where huge budgets were invested. The Geomdan Prehistory Museum must permanentize secondary linked non-face-to-face competitions such as the 'Post-Online Prehistoric Golden Bell' based on survey and review data collected in a post-manner after this vacation program ends, and implement practical supplementary measures that regularly deliver post-museum newsletters and new educational information to participating families. Only when this organic post-distribution feedback mechanism is settled will short-term free distribution administrations avoid criticism of tax waste and be translated into substantial national interests of expanding the value of regional cultural assets nationwide through digital platforms.
