[CTN 가금현 기자] 당진시의 미래 지형을 획기적으로 바꿀 ‘건설·교통·공원·안전’ 분야의 세부 공약이 전격 공개됐다.
이번 발표는 오성환 당진시장이 추진하는 도심 인프라 혁신 로드맵을 담은 것으로, 민선 9기 핵심 비전인 「1-5-100 마스터플랜」의 네 번째 파트다.
고질적인 상습 정체를 해소하고 시민들의 일상과 직결된 생활 밀착형 복지를 유기적으로 연결하는 실천 과제들이 대거 포함됐다.
먼저 당진의 만성적인 교통 체증을 해결하고 지역 간 연결성을 극대화하기 위한 대형 인프라 사업이 본격 가동된다.
시는 안섬포구에서 평택시 우정읍을 잇는 총연장 8.3㎞의 '당진-화성간 제2서해대교 건설'을 추진, 서해안고속도로의 극심한 교통량을 분산시킬 계획이다. 본 사업에는 약 7,500억 원의 사업비가 투입될 예정이다.
지난 2025년 1월 예비타당성 대상 사업으로 선정된 '국도 32호 우회도로 건설'은 현재 KDI(한국개발연구원)에서 타당성 검토를 진행 중이며, 시는 상습 교통 침체 해소를 위해 오는 7월 내 본 사업 통과를 목표로 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
이와 함께 면천IC에서 당진시내를 잇는 시도 1호선을 승격시킨 ‘지방도 609호선 4차선 확포장’ 사업은 충남도에서 설계를 완료해 조속한 착공을 앞두고 있다.
기존 시도 15호선과 16호선을 통합·승격한 ‘오도-당진간 도로 4차선 확포장(연장 약 7.8㎞)’ 사업도 속도를 낸다.
고대 용두리부터 당진3동(우두동)을 연결하는 ‘고대-우두동 신설 도로’는 이미 법정도로 지정을 마쳤다. 아울러 ‘우강 송산지구 용도지역 변경’을 통한 지구단위 재정비로 준주거지역 상향 및 용적률·건폐율 상향을 본격 추진해 지역 개발을 활성화할 방침이다.
시민들이 일상에서 느끼는 이동 불편을 해소하기 위한 생활 밀착형 교통 정책도 상세히 마련됐다.
주말 및 휴일 막차 시간대 버스 부족 문제를 해결하기 위해 ‘강남고속버스터미널 버스 증차’를 추진하며, 차량 증가로 몸살을 앓는 아파트 단지 주변 유휴지를 활용해 ‘APT 단지별 공용 주차장’을 대거 확보한다.
또한 지속적인 도시개발과 시가지 확장에 발맞춰 ‘시내 순환 버스’를 확충하고, 교통약자와 벽지 주민들에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있는 ‘행복버스’의 증차 및 노선 확충을 통해 시골 어르신들의 이동 이동 편의를 전면 보장할 계획이다.
시민들의 여가와 휴식을 위한 대규모 친환경 녹지 공간 구축 전략도 구체화됐다.
현재 보상액 약 300억 원이 투입되어 실시설계가 진행 중인 ‘명품호수공원 조성’ 사업이 탄력을 받는다. 공원 내부에는 키즈카페, 음악분수대, 어린이공원, 문화센터, 도서관, 반려견 놀이터 등 다채로운 복합 문화·편의시설이 채워진다.
이미 녹지면적을 확보한 당진 3·4지구(우두동)에는 약 16,000평 규모의 ‘명품공원’이 추진되며, 정미면 수당리 일원에는 휴양림 약 55ha, 치유의 숲 약 50ha 규모의 ‘자연휴양림 및 치유의 숲’을 조성해 숙박과 휴식이 결합된 힐링 거점을 마련한다.
